01.06.2011: This paper by Marica Frangakis (Poulatzas Institute Athens) gives an overview on the basics of the European Central Bank, its history, structure and mandate. It makes a critical assessment of the role of the ECB in the financial crisis and the crisis of the Euro-zone. It served as input for the WEED expert meeting on the ECB in April 2010
