Climate Activists Mark President Ajay Banga’s Bullish First Year

Activists placed a cutout of the Wall Street bull outside the World Bank Group office in Washington, D.C. to mark the delivery of petition signatures and a group letter asking President Ajay Banga to oust Wall Street influencers by abolishing his newly-created advisory body, the Private Sector Investment Lab.

Complaint mechanism of the German automotive industry begins operation in Mexico.

Civil society from Mexico and Germany welcomes the launch of the cross-company grievance mechanism. In order to ensure its effectiveness, the organisations involved are calling for stronger and long-term involvement of relevant companies and political institutions as well as securing resources for civil society support for the mechanism. The lack of supply chain transparency of the participating companies and the uncertain future of the mechanism after 2025 are cause for concern.

Open Letter to G20 Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors and the IMF: Civil Society Organizations Call for Issuance of More SDRs and Fairer Distribution

The letter was sent ahead of the IMF Executive Board meeting on 13 April 2022 as part of the Spring Meetings, at which the new planned IMF Resilience and Sustainability Trust (RST) for on-lending the Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) of rich countries will be discussed.
