International taxes have become a broadly debated issue. They are an innovative way to finance development. They can redistribute profits deriving from globalisation to the losers of globalisation and help to regulate globalisation.

The new WEED-paper discusses background, context and legitimacy of international taxes. It also discusses in detail the feasibility of concrete proposals for international taxes with a focus on the currency transaction tax ("Tobin-tax”) and environmental taxes.
